TEEL RAVENS 12U BASEBALL TEAM
RUNNER-UP FOR
NATIONAL TOURNAMENT TITLE
IN COOPERSTOWN!!!
The 12U
Cooperstown Teel Ravens last night won the Runner-up title
in a national tournament Championship Final held at
Cooperstown Dreams Park in Cooperstown, NY !!
Gliding
easily through a packed tournament of 96 elite teams from
around the country, including 4 teams from Canada, the
Cooperstown Teel Ravens launched a week-long attack on
their competitors when their trip began on August 8th.
Slamming through every match-up for 5 straight days, they
put up an unbeaten record of 10-0 with 39 homeruns! These
amazing stats led to earning them a spot in the
Championship final game versus Chicago North Shore, a
well-respected Midwest powerhouse, who proved to be a
tough rival. The Championship final, held last night in
front of a packed house of 5000 in the main stadium in
Cooperstown Dreams Park, proved to be a game worthy of
these baseball giants. Webcast to 45,000 thousand viewers
nationwide, the game was packed with excitement and fine
baseball competition for all 6 innings.
General
Manager Joe Purritano hand-selected the coaches and
players for this elite team based on individual past
performance and personal excellence.
As GM,
Joe found the tops in baseball coaching, Head Coach Lou
DiChiaro. Lou's credits include his current positions as
Instructor in charge of Player Development at Teels
Baseball in Wyckoff and as Varsity Assistant Baseball
Coach at Don Bosco Prep High School. Lou was a 4 year
scholarship second base player at Seton Hall University
and played pro baseball for the Baltimore Orioles
organization.
Assistant
Coach Mike Warden, pitching coach for Teels Baseball,
worked alongside Lou to bring this team to prominence.
Throughout the week, with the guidance of the coaches, the
team showed the crowds from around the nation unmatched
consistency in pitching and hitting.
